Online Blackjack Overview
Although the exact origins of Blackjack are unknown, researchers agree that it most likely began in French casinos around 1700. “Vingt-et-Un,” which translates to “Twenty-one,” was the name of the French cards. These cards are most likely derived from the popular card game Chemin de Fer at the time.
Besides basic Blackjack you get, Pontoon, Face Up 21, Caribbean 21, Super 21, and Match Play 21.
Firstly, Rules of Blackjack:
- Cards: 52 to 416 (one to eight 52-card decks)
- Players: 2+, usually 2–7

Card Values:
- Number cards (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) are played at face value.
- Kings, queens, and jacks are worth 10.
- Aces may be used as either 1 or 11
“soft” hands: whenever you have an ace in your hand that can be counted as eleven, you have a soft hand.
“hard” hands: The value of the ace will become one to prevent the hand from exceeding 21
If you go over 21 you bust, and the dealer wins regardless of the dealer’s hand.

How to place a bet:
Bets – You wager any amount you want within the limits of the table
Deal – You receive 2 cards facing up the dealer gets 2 cards; 1 card is face down and 1 card is face-up
Player Button rules:
- Hit button can be used any time before doubling or standing
- Stand button can be used at any time
- The double button can be used on any two cards except BlackJack and split Aces
- The split button can be used on any two cards of equal value, 3 hands max
- Insurance is offered on the Dealer’s Ace

Dealer button Rules:
- Dealer can use the Hit button on any hard total 16 or less or on any soft total of 17 or less
- Stand button can be used by the dealer on any hard total of 17 or more or on any soft total of 18 or more
